Due to the popularity of Family Weekend and limited space availability, certain events will sell out. Tickets to events are distributed on a first come, first served basis and will be confirmed immediately upon completing the online registration form. Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Cancellations, reservation changes and refunds will be honored until October 9, with the exception of donations (see details below).
A $65.00 Family Weekend registration fee is required and covers the registration of up to four family members plus your UMD student(s). Additional family members may be added at a cost of $10 per person. Family Weekend is an independent and self-supported event for University of Maryland families and is not financed by University of Maryland or Maryland Parent & Family Association funds. The registration fee enables us to provide several events during Family Weekend at no additional cost to participants, including the President's Open House, Terp Family Festival & Tailgate concert, Terp Zone, and the Ice Cream Social on Sunday. The registration fee also covers the cost of Family Weekend publications, postage, online and onsite registration services, registration materials, facility rentals, staff and service fees, and access to discounted football tickets.
The $65 Family Weekend Registration Fee does not include a parking permit. Parking Permits can be purchased separately via the Family Weekend online registration form at a cost of $17.00 each (limit of one per family). Due to the football game on Saturday, October 19 and limited availability of parking spaces on campus, we are only able to sell 1,500 permits for Family Weekend. Families without a Family Weekend parking permit or those who would like an additional permit (beyond the one permit per family available via Family Weekend) are able to purchase game day permits online directly from the Department of Transportation Services for $17 each (based on availability) or park in the College Park Metro garage.
You can make adjustments to your reservation or cancel specific events by accessing the Family Weekend online registration form using your Registration Code. Your unique Registration Code appears on the confirmation page you printed after completing the online form and also appears on the confirmation you received via email. All changes and/or cancellations must be completed by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Cancellations received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 will receive a full refund with the exception of any donation made to the University during the Family Weekend registration process. Donations are non-refundable. Eligible refunds will be posted to the credit card used for the original payment less a $25 cancellation fee. We are unable to refund payments after October 9, 2019. To make a change to your registration (add or remove an event), you may log on to your Family Weekend registration form. Simply click the button/link located above and follow the instructions. To cancel your entire registration, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the Registration Code and your name as found on the confirmation letter.
All Family Weekend wristbands, tickets purchased via Family Weekend (excluding football tickets) and purchased Family Weekend parking permits, will be available for pick-up at the Family Weekend Welcome Center located in the Atrium at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18. They will not be sent in the mail. Football tickets will be issued electronically (via email) on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
