Online registration opens on Monday, August 16 at 12 p.m. (ET) and will close on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
Register to be part of this memorable weekend! All Terp family members of current UMD undergraduate students are welcome.
Be sure to review the schedule of events and other important Family Weekend details before proceeding to the online registration site. There is an overall Family Weekend Registration Fee, and additional events requiring fees and/or advance registration are selected on the online registration form. Families can create their own schedule and choose which events, sessions, and activities they would like to attend based on availability, interest, and budget.
FAMILY WEEKEND REGISTRATION FEE
Note: this fee is required to attend any part of Family Weekend and each individual family member must be registered.
$28 per person for Adults
$22 for UMD students
$12 per person for Youth (age 12 and under)
Registration fee includes the following:
- Access to Family Weekend educational sessions and workshops
- President’s Open House and college/school receptions
- Terp Family Festival and other family-friendly activities throughout the weekend
- Discounted ticket to the football game on October 1, 2021
- Access to Family Weekend ticketed events
- Membership/access to the Eppley Recreation Center on Saturday and Sunday
- Family Weekend giveaway item (one per family)
The registration fee also covers the cost of Family Weekend online and onsite registration services, registration materials, facility rentals, staff, and service fees. Family Weekend is an independent and self-supported event for University of Maryland families and is not financed by University of Maryland or Maryland Parent & Family Association funds.
Due to the popularity of Family Weekend and limited space availability, certain events will sell out. Tickets to events are distributed on a first come, first served basis and will be confirmed immediately upon completing the online registration form.
Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Cancellations, reservation changes, and refunds will be honored until September 22, with the exception of t-shirts and donations (see policy below). IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the large number of families currently registered for the weekend, we will not be offering onsite registration.
CHANGES, CANCELLATION, AND REFUND POLICY
You can make adjustments to your reservation or cancel specific events by accessing the Family Weekend online registration form using your Registration Code. Your unique Registration Code appears on the confirmation page you printed after completing the online form and also appears on the confirmation you received via email. All changes and/or cancellations must be completed by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Cancellations received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22 will receive a full refund with the exception of any donation made to the University and t-shirts purchased during the Family Weekend registration process. Donations are non-refundable and t-shirts are non-refundable. Eligible refunds will be posted to the credit card used for the original payment less a $25 cancellation fee. We are unable to refund payments after September 22, 2021.
To make a change to your registration (add or remove an event), you may log on to your Family Weekend registration form. Simply click the button/link located above and follow the instructions. To cancel your entire registration, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the Registration Code and your name as found on the confirmation letter.
The University of Maryland reserves the right to modify, limit, and cancel any Family Weekend event, in whole or in part, in case of an insufficient number of participants, unanticipated administrative needs, force majeure or other unforeseeable events, including a potential or significant threat or risk to the public health or safety of UMD personnel, students, or the public. The Office of Parent and Family Affairs shall immediately inform participants of such changes.
Should an event be cancelled, the Office of Parent and Family Affairs will refund the event ticket fee(s) in full. UMD shall not be responsible for costs, expenses, or other consequential damages incurred by Family Weekend registrants resulting from any such cancellation, delay, or change in location, programming, or performance. This applies to compensation claims for any non-refundable travel, accommodation costs, or other expenses incurred as a result of registration for, attendance at, non-attendance at, or cancellation of any Family Weekend event.
Due to the football game on Friday, October 1, visitor parking will not be available and parking on campus is limited to those who purchase a game day parking permit. Families wishing to park on campus on Friday must purchase a game day parking permit (regardless of attendance at the football game). Game day permits can be purchased online directly from the Department of Transportation Services. For Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3, families may park in the designated lots for Family Weekend (registered families will be provided with a special parking map).
All Family Weekend wristbands, tickets (excluding football tickets), and t-shirts purchased via Family Weekend will be available for pick-up at the Family Weekend Welcome Center located in the Atrium at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 1. They will not be sent in the mail. Football tickets will be issued electronically (via email) on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
