The shell indicates all free events/programs available to Family Weekend participants. Many of these programs are included in the Family Weekend registration fee and are provided at no additional charge.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

12:00 – 9:00 p.m.
ANYTIME DINING WITH YOUR STUDENT
Any Resident Dining Hall on Campus
Pay at the door or use your student’s guest pass. See info below.
Join your student for an all-you-care-to-eat meal from a wide variety of stations with most of the dining options prepared right in front of you. Options in the different dining rooms range from made to order vegan options in a wok to create your own Mongolian Grill entrees; brick oven pizza to full salad bars; grills, comfort foods, and international choices; make your own waffles; desserts (made right here on campus), and much more. Choices change daily and are served all day long.

Door price is $12.95 for brunch and $15.95 for dinner. Depending on the dining plan your student chose, they have between 2 and 8 guest passes per semester--so maybe they will use them to treat you to brunch or dinner! For more information and to see the menu for the day go to www.dining.umd.edu.

Welcome to UMD! Families that pre-registered for Family Weekend may pick up wristbands, event tickets, campus map, and additional Family Weekend materials. Due to the football game, parking on campus is limited to those who purchase a game day parking permit. Visitor parking in Union Lane Garage and other spaces on campus will not be available. We encourage families to send their student to the Welcome Center to pick-up your materials on Friday.

GOLF COURSE DRIVING RANGE
University of Maryland Golf Course
Free bucket of balls with Family Weekend wristband.
Beginners, advanced golfers, and all those in between are welcome to come to the golf course and practice on our driving range. Bring your own clubs or borrow ours. Just check-in at the Golf Course Pro Shop located on the lower level of the Clubhouse.

AUSCHWITZ SURVIVOR AND TERP GREAT GRANDMOTHER

Join Maryland Hillel to hear Minnie Osher’s remarkable story of survival and resilience. Minnie Osher, the great-grandmother of Lexi Silverman (UMD, Class of 2022) and a Holocaust survivor, was a 13-year-old when World War II broke out. She survived the Lodz Ghetto, transport in boxcars, death marches, overwhelming illness, and five concentration camps before being liberated from Bergen-Belsen by British forces on April 1945.

Choose from Doritos or Fritos, then we’ll add your toppings to the bag, give you a napkin and a fork, and off you go! Topping options include chili (beef and vegetarian), cheese sauce, salsa, sour cream, and jalapenos. Drink options include bottled water, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Sierra Mist.
