Online registration for Family Weekend
is now open.
Please read through all information
on this page before proceeding to the online
registration form.
We strongly encourage you to register for Family Weekend
as soon as possible. Due to the popularity of Family
Weekend and limited space availability, certain events
will sell out. Tickets to events are distributed on a
first come, first served basis and will be confirmed
immediately upon completing the online registration
form.
Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m.
(EDT) on Sunday, October 5, 2008.
Cancellations, reservation changes and refunds will be
honored until October 5 (see details below).
Families wishing to register for Family Weekend after
October 5 may do so on-site on Friday, October 10 (12:00
p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) and Saturday, October 11 (8:30 a.m. -
2:00 p.m.) at the Family Weekend Welcome Center located
in the Stamp Student Union. Tickets to
events may be purchased at this time if space is still
available.
REGISTRATION FEE
A $40.00 Family Weekend registration fee covers
the registration of up to four family members plus your UM student(s).
Additional family members may be added at a cost of $10
per person. This
fee enables us to provide several events during Family
Weekend at no additional cost to participants, including
Classes without Quizzes, President's Open House &
Reception, the Saturday morning continental breakfast,
Terp Quest, games in the Terp Zone, and the Ice Cream
Social on Sunday. The
registration fee also covers the cost of Family Weekend publications
(brochure, web site, nametags, maps, schedules, etc.),
postage, online and onsite registration services, and
your weekend parking pass. In addition, the fee helps to offset our costs for the rental of campus
facilities (we must pay for every space we use),
facility staff and service fees, parking attendants and
many other incidental expenses. Family Weekend is an
independent and self-supported event for University of
Maryland families and is not financed by student fees or
Maryland Parents Association funds.
CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
You can make adjustments to your reservation, cancel
specific events or cancel your entire registration by
accessing the Family Weekend online registration
form using your Registration Code. Your unique
Registration Code appears
on the confirmation page you
printed after completing the online form and also
appears on the confirmation you received via email.
All changes and/or cancellations must be
completed by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, October 5, 2008. Cancellations
received by this deadline will receive a full refund
less a $20 cancellation fee. We are
unable to refund payments after October 5, 2008.
To make a change to your registration (add or remove
an event), you may log on to your Family Weekend
registration form. Simply click the button/link located
below and enter your Registration Code.
To cancel your entire registration, follow the
instructions listed below:

Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select "Cancel my
registration"

Enter the Registration Code found on your confirmation
letter.

FAMILY WEEKEND ATTENDANCE
GRANTS
Financial assistance is available for those families
experiencing extenuating circumstances.
The Family Weekend Attendance Grant is a need-based
award and provides financial assistance to defray the
expense of attending Family Weekend. Any parent or
guardian of a current, full-time undergraduate student
receiving financial aid is eligible to apply for a
Family Weekend Attendance Grant.
