President's Residence
President Dan Mote and Mrs. Patsy Mote welcome students and their families to their home for light refreshments and hors d' oeuvres. Mingle with faculty and staff, and enjoy this unique opportunity to tour the president's residence.

Dinner and performance by The Evasons

World-renowned mentalist duo, Jeff and Tessa Evason, bring their slick blend of mind magic and comic relief to Family Weekend for an amazing show that will not soon be forgotten. The Evasons will dazzle the audience with demonstrations of psychic phenomena that will have you on the edge of your seat. Witness what NBC TV calls "the finest act of its kind in the world." You won't believe your mind!

MARYLAND'S GOT TALENT!
Starring comedian BUZZ SUTHERLAND

Dekelboum Concert Hall, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
Buzz Sutherland hosts this special showcase of Maryland’s own student performance groups. From a cappella to sketch comedy to dance, this show features the very best in student entertainment along with the talent of professional comedian, Buzz Sutherland. Buzz is a man who is sincerely and seriously committed to entertaining audiences with humor that is 100% clean and 200% funny. He has been at the very top of the college comedy world for the past 8 years, winning Comedian of the Year honors a record 16 times. His quick wit, unmatched charisma, smooth blend of home spun characters, and outrageous facial expressions will have everyone rolling with laughter.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast spread and conversation while mingling with other parents and interacting with university administrators in the beautiful setting of Moxley Gardens. Then, gather in Orem Alumni Hall for the official kick-off celebration for Family Weekend.

Meet up with your student and join us for food, fun and friends on McKeldin Mall!  Choose from our festive barbecue fare, interact with Terp families and enjoy live entertainment provided by Santa Mamba.
     Santa Mamba is one of the most talented and original acts on the East Coast— combining the hot, hip-shaking sounds of salsa, fiery flamenco rhythms, and bass-driven funk with the power of rock & roll. Santa Mamba brings diverse musical influences and backgrounds into a unique sound full of Latin soul that will have everyone moving.

FAMILY WEEKEND SPECTACULAR featuring
THE ADULT CIRCUS and RECYCLED PERCUSSION

Ritchie Coliseum

One amazing night—two incredible performances!  We've pulled out all the stops to bring you an exceptional and memorable evening of entertainment the whole family will enjoy.
 
   The Adult Circus is a fast-paced, audience interactive variety show featuring an all-original presentation of magic, juggling, telepathy and dangerous side-show stunts all wrapped in a blanket of comedy. Then, sit tight for one of the hottest performance groups in the country. Take a little bit of Stomp!, throw in a dash of Blue Man Group, add a ton of junk and you have the high energy and unforgettable show of Recycled Percussion.

4th ANNUAL GOSPEL BRUNCH
This wonderful event features an amazing buffet of home-style cooking to feed the body and the inspiring sounds of gospel music to feed the soul. The gospel brunch is presented in partnership with the Washington Performing Arts Society (WPAS) Men and Women of the Gospel Choir. The choir made its Carnegie Hall debut in 2006, and we are thrilled to welcome them back to the University of Maryland for another Family Weekend performance.

FAMILY FAREWELL ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Before departing campus for home, all Family Weekend participants are invited to enjoy delicious scoops of the university's own Dairy ice cream served up by members of the Maryland Parents Association.
